Are you self-motivated undergraduate, looking to secure an internship within IT for a Marketing and Sales Organisation?  Well, this could be the placement for you.  With over 20 years’ experience, our client is a small but expanding business and are recognised as a global market leader in this sector. They specialise in consultancy, lead generation and event recruitment and we are now hiring for this brand new IT Manager role to help us during this exciting phase in our plan for growth.

About the role & company:

  • This role will mainly focus on supporting a new office in Glasgow, providing IT Support, ensuring the IT systems are all working efficiently and supporting the team with IT queries
  • During the busy periods, you may be required to work on telemarketing campaigns yourself, whilst being involved in the campaign set up in terms of IT requirement
  • You will be working directly for the Managing Director, alongside Senior staff and learn more about one of the largest and most important industries globally.
  • An internship with our client will show you the ‘ins-and-outs‘ of the Mobile industry
  • We are a small, dynamic company and the Intern will be involved in most aspects of the business.
  • Previous interns have enjoyed their placement with us and even introduced their parents when visiting!
  • We currently have 4 interns working for us, to support us with the Company’s expansion

Task and responsibilities:

  • Support the Sales & Marketing Team with their IT requirements
  • Provide advice on how to perform more efficiently in terms of IT systems
  • Be involved with the business transformation changes in terms of moving databases to new cloud based solutions
  • Help set up the IT infrastructure it the new office

Training & Experience Provided:

  • This role will provide you with knowledge and develop your skills, as a good foundation to your future career in supporting a busy environment and also be involved at the early stages of business expansion
  • Training will cover call process, questioning and fact-finding skills and increased IT knowledge
  • This is a first-class work training and experience.
  • Understanding of a which systems are best to enable the company to perform more efficiently
  • An opportunity to apply the theory you have learned at University
  • Time management, self -management skills, working with a team, during challenging times

Essential requirements:

  • IT related degree
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Someone willing to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident
  • Sharepoint, Microsoft Outlook and OWA experience
  • Knowledge of different cloud based databases to support the company in transforming from Access databases to alternatives ie possibly Salesforce

Summary of Company Activities:

·         Our client is a small company with, at any time, no more than 10/12 staff in Lanark (its main office) but the candidate will be working mainly in Glasgow, but possibly with initial training in Lanark

·         Due to the size of the office the Intern will interact with all members of staff on different tasks.

Remuneration details:

·         The successful candidate will receive a salary of £17.000 per annum
